Hello Warsaw Family!  My name is Ben Barkey and I am the principal at Madison Elementary.  I represent a group of educators, our school nurse, and students who want to make an impact in our community.  

As educators, no matter the circumstances, we want to impact our students lives through real-world learning experiences.

As community members, no matter the circumstances, we want to support our local businesses who have worked hard to make our city a better place.

As people, no  matter the circumstance, we want to lift up our heroes who make personal sacrifices to help those in need. 

This gofundme will benefit, students, local restaurants, and nurses. 

The funds will be use to purchase Family style food from local restaurants and then given by students to nurses who are working in our health care facilities.

We need these funds as soon as possible.  There are a handful of restaurants that are offering family style meals for $40.  Currently, we have raised $400 thanks to the Madison PTO.

The plan: under the direction of their teacher, students who go above and beyond in their learning during the shut down will be recognize for their efforts.   Their actions will award them a $40 gift card to one of our local restaurants.  The student will then write a letter to a nurse letting them know how much they appreciate the job they are doing.   The Madison team will then arrange with that nurse the day and time for them to pick up the meal.

We are feeding the family of a nurse

Every bit helps and every $40 is a meal for a nurse's family.  We all want to do our part, including students.

A constant theme I have learned while being in education is never underestimate students, regardless of age, and their abilities to make real life impacts!
