On February 24, I began to have pains in my stomach. A rare illness was diagnosed with MALS on October 24. After diagnosis, I was then set to have surgery, which was the only fix. I was laid off from my job in September of 24 after working for 5 years at the same company due to missing too much work and spending too much time in the hospital. I had my surgery on January 17th, 2025, and recovery was very hard. Thanks to my parents and friends I was able to keep my home and cover my bills until I could recover. I tried to go to work and started experiencing a different type of pain. On April 3rd, 2025, I went to the ER only to be told that my left kidney had died. I was sent to a larger hospital for testing, and they could not tell me why. On April 23rd, I started experiencing pain in my right side and decided to go to a Dallas Hospital to see if I could get answers. While there, I was told that I had a 4 mm spot on my right kidney that had also died. After lots of testing, they determined that my lupus had returned after 7 years of being in remission following 18 months of chemotherapy. The determination from the doctors that I saw was that the lupus was causing me to have blood clots. At this point, I feel my only option is going to be filing for disability. I will be on blood thinners and lupus medication for the rest of my life. Due to the conditions I cannot stand for very long or sit for very long periods. I have lots of fatigue and nausea constantly. I have always been a hard worker. I have provided for my family as much as possible now, my entire life has changed. Update:

I just found out that the blood thinner I have been on to prevent blood clots is not working and I am being put on another that has to have daily monitoring. Also the medicine for my Lupus is also not working and I will begin taking chemotherapy treatments in order to lower my immune system. I have had them before and they make me sick and my hair fall out. But if it helps me live longer and gives me more time with my kids and family then I am all for it. God's got me!
