On November 14th, our entire world changed in seconds.
A car came speeding through our community and crashed directly into our 4 year old daughter’s bedroom while she was asleep. The impact shook our entire home. The wall exploded inward. Glass, debris, and insulation went everywhere.
My partner Jeremiah a 100% disabled U.S. veteran had to climb into the wreckage to rescue our little girl, despite his own conditions and injuries he faces every day. Our daughter woke up screaming, terrified and shaking. Our 3 month old baby was in the home too. It was pure chaos.
We lost everything inside that room… her bed, dresser, toys, clothes, and so many personal items that can never be replaced. Our living room and hallway were also damaged. The structural damage is so severe that we are now completely displaced and can’t return home at all.
We have:
• Nowhere safe to live
• No bedroom for our daughter
• No supplies for our baby
• No clothes, shoes, toiletries
• No stability
• And no way to return to normal right now
I was supposed to start my new work from home job on Monday, but I can’t start now because we don’t even have a home to work from. Our 4 year old is traumatized, having panic attacks, and afraid to sleep alone or return to school. Our infant needs formula, wipes, diapers, and essentials all over again.
Red Cross gave immediate help, but this situation is much bigger than what their emergency funds cover.
We are asking for help to cover:
• Temporary housing (Airbnb/hotel)
• Food & transportation
• Clothing for all four of us
• Baby supplies & formula
• Replacing destroyed items
• Medical follow ups for trauma
• A safe place to stay while we rebuild everything
We had no control over what happened. One moment we were at home… the next moment our lives were shattered.
If you can help us, even $5 it truly means the world.
Thank you for reading and sharing our story.
From our family:
Somer, Jeremiah (U.S. Veteran), London, and Baby Azurii
