Hi I am Connie known as Colorful Connie from California, retired from teaching in academia and now a student of Yoga among other things!

My beloved cousin and lifelong friend Bridget (on the left) has been going through some challenging times with health (eg, post-cancer treatment complications) and finances.

After moving last fall and releasing the care of a mentally ill older brother to an assisted living facility, the food stamps (EBT) she and her disabled son Anthony depend on were accidentally cut off and not yet restored. Bridget and Anthony did not get their April Social Security checks, so I’m going to help them work with their congressional representative to get these funds back (which could take months). The house where she took care of her father after his stroke sold under market value due to vandalism, which insurance took too long to process so no funds came from the sale of the house recently.

If this weren’t enough, her phone and refrigerator both just went on the blink, and a handyman who was supposed to set up washer/dryer in their new abode absconded with the funds she advanced to him for parts and labor.

I could go on, but it would help immensely if any amount could be donated to get my cousin and nephew better situated in these coming months and bring some sunshine of caring their way. So immensely grateful!
