Continuing the Battle

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2014. August 25 I had a bilateral mastectomy. Removing both of my breasts. Tissue expanders were put in place to slowly stretch out the skin to create a pocket, that will holds the implant placed in side.
I am on the home stretch!!! 10 months later here we are! June 01st 2015 I had the surgery. 6 days later I woke up with my left breast bright red and hot. My whole body hurt like I had the flu. Doctors then changed my meds, it has gotten better but it's not going away. The bacteria found in the fluid coming out doesn't work well with the medication I am on. The problem is I am allergic to the only oral medication that will fight the infection off. On Friday I have to see a infectious Disese doctor, to have a pic line inserted so they can pump the antibiotic into me every few days. I am hoping we are able to get the infection under control or I am at risk of having another surgery and loosing everything. They just did.
So many of you have donated and I am so grateful, now I have been given a curve ball and have to stay on Oahu longer then expected. My mom is thankfully with my children back home on Lanai, while I am on Oahu. I will continue to stay strong and fight this infection to get back to my family. My battle is not over just yet, and I still have some fight left in me. I am more then grateful for all the continued support.
