Hello, my name is Lesley Reyes daughter of Yolanda Ponce & René Reyes Ruiz. I am sister of Jonathan Reyes, Brian Reyes & Jesse Reyes names that get lost in the ton but mean the world to me. We’ve been a part for 4 1/2 years, same age as my son whom they got yet to meet. 4 1/2 years without seeing the family that was always there for me. Now it just feels like a dream.

I am asking for the generosity in this group to assist my family in coming back home. The funds will go directly to funding initial housing costs to establish themselves back in San Diego where I reside. They currently live in Poteet, TX and the stories I’m about to unwind are a bit tough to express.

My brother Jonathan Reyes was always the kindest soul growing up, as an adult he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and has been in and out of mental hospitals since then. At this point, he was just recently released from being hospitalized after another psychosis event. He is not well but controlled. My parents have asked me to step and review options for him as his unpredictability can be of harm to himself and possibly others. He previously had a life here in San Diego and was the most well here and since he’s left it’s been nothing but left turns. I really need him to come back to be able to help him get his life back on track. He absolutely deserves a healthy & happy life.

To continue to add, my dad is completely deaf from both ears from an accident he had in the 90s while working construction. My dad is 65 years old still working as hard as he can for his family. His hands are completely callused, but that is not a reflection of who he is. He is a kind, warm, generous, hardworking dad that will do anything to keep the family together in spite of his challenges.

The family challenges feel overwhelming at this time for me I can only imagine how much more they’re struggling both not just financially but emotionally.
