My family has always worked hard to make ends meet, but recently, our world was turned upside down. After nearly 30 years at his job, my dad lost his position — a devastating blow that deeply affected his mental health. On May 6th, he attempted to take his own life and was hospitalized. Thankfully, he is now in recovery, but the loss of his job has left him struggling, both mentally and financially.

This tragedy comes just three years after we lost our mom, leaving a void in our family that we are still trying to heal. Now, with my dad out of work, we are facing overwhelming financial strain. Our home loan exceeds $100,000, and our monthly bills are nearly $2,000. I work, but my income alone is not enough to support my dad, my younger sister, and myself.

My dad is diabetic and needs consistent access to his medication to stay healthy and stable. We are in the process of applying for government assistance for both my dad and sister, but this is a slow and uncertain process.
