Eviction prevention for non-binary AIDS Survivor

Hi everyone,

My name is Puma (they/them) and I’m a San Francisco-born, Peruvian-American that is currently at-risk for losing my housing. After surviving three years of pandemic-related tribulations, I realize we all have gone through many challenges. I consider myself very lucky to have been able to find affordable housing in SF during that time, surviving on mostly fixed-income (with some dog walking gigs). However, my aspirations were to continue my education to get into the healthcare industry to be of service to communities under privileged. I attempted to go to school and lost out on work to make that sacrifice, which ended up putting me at risk.

At the beginning of April, my immune system flared up from allergies/severe hay fever that became exacerbated by COVID. It unfortunately took a major toll on my health, preventing me from working gig -opportunities that were keeping me afloat.

I’m currently behind on my rent payment by $754, utilities ($125), and car insurance ($90).

While I’m doing a lot better, I’m still working with my healthcare provider on my sinus infection and allergies that are causing extreme fatigue.

I do not like to ask for assistance from my community, though I hope that I can catch a break while I bounce back on my feet.

Back rent ($754), utilities due ($125), car insurance ($90) would be $969.

My goal is set to $2000 in the case that would help towards the May approaching and also help secure pet food for my emotional support dog.

For the future, I am applying to jobs and have had to withdraw from classes this semester. I hope to get some dog walking gigs as well.
