Hi everyone! My name is Evangelia Stoupakis, and I am proud to be participating in Gen G, the teen leadership and service program of the Greek America Foundation .
Growing up, I have always loved being involved in my community and finding ways to help others. Through sports, school, the Greek community, and volunteer work, I have learned the true importance of leadership, teamwork, and service. What drew me most to Gen G is that it gives young people the opportunity to take real initiative and be trusted with meaningful responsibility. Gen G is not just another volunteer club. It is a unique program that teaches teenagers how philanthropy truly works through hands-on experience.
Young people are often told they are “the future,” but Gen G empowers us to make a meaningful impact now. Rather than simply hosting fundraisers or learning about philanthropy in theory, we are actively involved in creating change and directly supporting our communities.
As part of Gen G, we are launching the FIRST-EVER Greek American Endowment Fund. This is something groundbreaking within the Greek American community. Through this program, we are not just fundraisers, we are becoming decision-makers. We learn how to raise funds, understand the needs of nonprofits, review grants, and help make thoughtful decisions about giving. It teaches teens how small ideas and actions can grown into something much larger and powerful when people work together toward a common goal.
The money we raise for the Gen G Cares Endowment Fund will be used in two ways:
- One portion will be awarded as grants to worthy non profit organization
- Another portion will be placed in a long-term endowment fund that can continue to grow over time.
To me, what makes Gen G so meaningful is that it proves to BOTH teens and adults that leadership is not based on age. It is teaching an entire generation that they are capable of creating a real and lasting impact.
My goal is to raise $1000 to help build the Gen G Cares Endowment Fund. I would be grateful for any donation. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact.
Together we are not just raising money. We are building the next generation of leaders, humanitarians and change makers.
