Keep Mom in Memory Care
Donación protegida
My mom Sharon is 77 years old, non verbal with Alzheimer’s. She is currently in a wonderful memory care facility Silver Creek Inn that she has been at for the last 5 years. We had to move her there because it became impossible to keep her safe at home with us. 3 months before her funds ran out we applied for state long term care as we where instructed to do. We now find ourselves in a situation where we are now on month 7 of waiting for state to get back to us which puts us 4 months behind in payments. They are going to have to evict her if we can’t start paying and we don’t know what to do. We are on the phone with state constantly but are getting no where yet.
We are not a family that asks for help but I love my mom and want her in the best place for her to remain safe and happy and decided to try this after much thought, prayer and trying to make this work ourselves. My mom does not have her own voice any longer so we are trying to be a voice for her best interests.
We are asking for help to raise money to pay for her to stay where she is until we can get state to come through. The impact of moving her would be devastating to her as well as to us for not being able to keep her as safe with the 24 hour care she would need.
My mom is a wonderful lady that has always been so caring and willing to help take care of others whenever they needed help. She would help by doing things like washing clothes for the church thrift store and by taking those that needed to be pushed in their wheelchairs at the nursing home for walks outside. She was always at her kids sporting events and willing to help at those events any way she could.
