Esqui's Liver Transplant Journey

Thank you for taking time to read about Esqui and his family's journey.  In July 2016 Esqui was diagnosed with liver cancer.  This was confirmed after two months of severe CT scans, MRI's and a biopsy.  Esqui was informed he had cancer! Due to the severity of the cancer, doctors were unable to treat him in his home state of New Mexico. Doctors referred him to UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital where Esqui was informed the tumor was too large to be treated or to be put on the transplant list. The only option was chemotherapy. 

During this three-year battle, Esqui received five rounds of chemotherapy, two rounds of radiation, one alcohol ablation treatment, overcoming a collapsed lung all while traveling back and forth through snow storms and during holidays. Even with his intense treatments, he wouldn't miss work so he could continue to provide for his family. 

In April 2019, after his cancer was in remission, Esqui was finally placed on the transplant list. On June 21, 2019 Esqui got the call we all had been praying for. A liver was available. The next day, on June 22, 2019, the transplant was performed  and was a success! God had blessed Esqui and gave him a second chance at life! Esqui is doing well and improving every day.

During this entire process, the medical bills and traveling expenses are taking a toll on the family and we are asking for much needed prayers and monetary contributions that we can donate to Esqui during this difficult time.  They are private people so it took some convincing to share their journey publicly.  We would like to ease some of their financial burdens if possible.
