Dear family, friends & extended friends.
Im writing this on behalf of this beautiful young family. George & Sasha & their 3 year old daughter Esme, and her 7 month old sister Amelie.
A couple of weeks ago George and Sasha received the devastating news, that Esme has B-cell Leukemia, and she was admitted to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
Her treatment will be intense. The first six months will involve the toughest care, in and out of the hospital, followed by ongoing treatment for two years at home. If Esme goes into remission and stays there, she will be considered cured after five years. This at home care is what will become costly.
Alongside this heartbreaking news, George and Sasha are also facing the overwhelming logistical and financial challenges. Caring for their 7-month-old baby Amelie at home while ensuring Esme receives full-time care in the hospital is already stretching them thin, as the journey is hours each way. Because Esme is immunocompromised, using public transport isn’t safe, and private transport becomes very costly also. On top of this, George will be facing the difficulty of how to balance returning to work while supporting his family.
Your donations will be going towards a caregiver for their youngest child Amelie, while their focus is on Esme. Funds will also be going towards occupational and speech therapists, as Esme would of been starting pre-school this year, and any aftercare needs for Esme, whilst at home.
First, we ask that you keep Esme and her caregivers in your thoughts and prayers. If you are able, please help by supporting them during this time of financial need. (Both GBP & USD currency are accepted through this GoFund page)
Your kindness will help ease the stress so they can focus entirely on Esme’s recovery and caring for Amelie.
Your support and prayers means so much to them.
With love,
On behalf of the Sciouris Family
