Ernest Cantu’s Battle Against Cancer
Don protégé
This fundraiser is for Ernest Cantu, a veteran who served 8 years in two military branches then over 12 years in law enforcement. He has dedicated himself in mind body and soul to his country. He is now facing his biggest fight cancer.
Considered head and throat cancer the Squamous Cell Carcinoma has presented in abnormal ways for months. Bloody noses, dizzying headaches that blurred his vision and sporadic shocks through his throat into his head and ear are what pushed Ernie and his wife Sabrina to get answers. It is a complex case due to the location and has proven difficult just to get clear imaging. It has yet to be determined if he is in stage 2 or 3 with the biggest question being if it has penetrated the bone. It’s a cancer, like most, that takes and takes without remorse or provocation from even the greatest soul that has committed so much of his life to giving.
The cancer has now rendered Ernie incapable of work, driving, and makes swallowing an almost impossible task. As an unfortunate byproduct of multiple biopsies, a newly formed hole in the roof of his mouth puts him at constant risk of choking whenever drinking or eating. ‘Round-the-clock monitoring has become necessary for his daily nourishment and survival.
This fundraiser is to help Ernie and his wife raise funds for the long, uncertain, journey ahead of them including living and travel expenses for specialists in faraway cities as they determine his next steps. No one should fight cancer alone. Please help show your support. Share his story. Pray for him and his family. A family that is always hopeful and forever grateful for you and his medical team. Thank you.
