ERIN OGLE WHEELCHAIR FUND

I am Mum to Erin.  She is our oldest child, who turned 15 this year.  She is a headstrong teenager.  She has severe cerebral palsy quadriplegia, epilepsy, and cortical vision impairment.

Confined to  a wheelchair for her entire day, it gets alot of wear.  She has very strong tone in her muscles that cause alot of pain, aches and damage to equipment!

Erin is fed via a gastrostomy button and communicates via a keyboard on her ipad to answer simple questions or get help from an aide to spell out her words.

We are in desperate need for funds for a new wheelchair!

We have used all of our funding and have previously fundraised, and now I am hoping this helps us achieve some of our goals for Erin as she approaches adulthood. This chair will be used by her to access the wider community as her school days come to an end in a year or two.

We also have installed a ceiling hoist to our home this year costing $14000 of our funds and fundraising and purchased a standing frame for school of $9000 with funding which has exhausted all our reserves.

The chair is likely to cost around $12000 with all the strapping and features that Erin needs to be built into her chair for such heavy use.

We are hoping to raise the funds by around February.  This is a truly humbling experience to come and ask for help.  We have two other children also, a 14yr old girl, and a 7 year old boy, who also has autism-but that is a whole different story!!!
