Erica's LPHS Medical Bills and Support Fund

Hi Everyone,

 

One of my best friends, Erica Nickerson was diagnosed in September of 2021 with a VERY rare condition called Loin Pain Hematuria Syndrome (LPHS). The syndrome causes the kidneys to bleed with severe flares of pain that at a time, can put her in the hospital for long periods of time. There’s no cure, but there are medical techniques and surgeries that can help to alleviate the symptoms and allow Erica to live life more comfortably. Unfortunately, most of theses procedures are done out of state at hospitals/clinics where they specialize in this condition. She is currently on Medicaid where a lot of these procedures aren’t covered - that means paying out of pocket. 

 

Erica is currently unable to work full time due to the severity of her condition. On average, she is admitted to Mount Sinai Hospital Queens one to two times a month with her admissions lasting anywhere from a couple days to weeks. As easy as it is to work from home like most people still do- it is impossible to work from a hospital bed. I am making this Go Fund Me to raise money for my friend's medical bills and future bills for any procedures she may have.
