Support Needed to Prevent Home Loss

Hello,
This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write, but I’m at a place where I need to ask for help. I’ve been unemployed for a significant amount of time. My last contract ended in April 2023. Despite supplementing unemployment benefits and income from bartending (a part-time job I started in February), I haven’t been able to keep up with everything.
I was fortunate that my mortgage company worked with me, giving me time to catch up once I was employed again. In April, I was thrilled to land a role as a Technical Project Manager after a year of searching. I was on a plan with my bank to pay double my mortgage monthly to dig myself out of this rut.
But my relief was short-lived. The agency let me go after less than three months, citing I was only billable ~50% of the time, and my position was eliminated. That left me scrambling. My agreement with the mortgage company required me to get caught up by November, but without steady income, I couldn’t meet the terms.
Now, I’m facing a heartbreaking possibility: selling my home. The thought of losing this place—where I’d hoped to create lifelong memories—is crushing. I’ve worked tirelessly to find a new full-time role while bartending to stay afloat, but I need help bridging this gap.
I’ve started a GoFundMe as a last resort, and it’s with great humility that I’m sharing it. I know this is a tough time for everyone, and I don’t expect anything, but even a small contribution could help me get current on my mortgage and avoid foreclosure. Once I’m caught up, I’ll be able to maintain monthly payments with my bartending income until I secure a new role in my field.
If you know of job opportunities that align with my skills, I’d be deeply grateful for leads. I’ve been a Project Manager—primarily in software development—for nearly 17 years and hold a current Scrum Master certification. While my PMP has expired, I’m open to diverse roles and attending a creative job search course to broaden my outlook.
My dream is to stay in this home for many years, with many “Grandma’s house” visits to come. I can’t thank you enough for your time, support, and consideration. Your kindness, whether it’s a donation, a job lead, or even sharing my story, means the world to me.
