My name is Zain Jazara, a Palestinian American assisting a dear friend escape the horrors of Rafah.
Here is his message:
"My name is Bashar Shaat and I am a Palestinian living in the Gaza Strip.
Today, I come to you with a heavy heart, as I am seeking assistance in getting out of Gaza, as my only wish now is to leave Gaza for Egypt safely.
Since the onset of the war on October 7th, I have been stripped of any sense of safety and security. For the past seven months, I have been fearing for my safety as there is no safe place in Gaza anymore.
Nine years ago, I volunteered as a paramedic in the Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza, where I have been transporting, resuscitating, and providing life support for patients.
Regrettably, I lost dozens of my family members, friends, and loved ones to the war. My family lost their businesses and our home in Gaza City was reduced to rubble thanks to an IOF raid.
Amid the chaos that ensued after October 7, my family was forced to flee multiple times, moving from the Center to the south of Gaza. Now, we live in a tent in Rafah City where we struggle to find the basic necessities.
The situation is dire in Rafah City. Access to medication is scarce, compounded by the lack of clean water and adequate nutrition, leading to a myriad of health issues.
Your support during these challenging times means the world to me. I humbly request your assistance and encourage you to share my campaign with your networks. Every little contribution will ensure my safety and well-being. Rest assured, all funds raised will be spent transparently and efficiently to ensure my family's safety and security.
Thank you from the depths of my heart for your kindness and solidarity.
Warm regards,
Bashar Shaat"
