Ensure Sarah's Safe Future in Canada

After yesterday's election, America is no longer safe for people like me. In response, I plan to leave the United States and move to Canada. I have already begun searching for jobs there and plan to apply for asylum. Simply put, people in the LGBTQ+ community, particularly people identifying as transgender, will be targeted by the incoming fascist regime. There are no guardrails and no checks and balances anymore, nor will there be for the foreseeable future of this country. I am reaching out to all of you, friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances to help me with this endeavor. I don't want to be part of a statistic that historians use to say how bad things got during this time in history, just to live my life in peace. The dollar amount is a goal that will help with moving expenses and securing housing when I arrive. I'll freely admit that its more an aspirational goal, but every cent helps me ensure that I can get somewhere safe.
