Hello everyone
My Aunt Laura passed away today. We all thought everything was going to be ok. Let me give a brief story.
My Aunt was diagnosed with Parkinson's plus PSP which is a rare palsy and when combined with Parkinson's it speeds up the symptoms. Something that she could have lived with for years like Micheal J Fox became unattainable because of the PSP. Their life expectancy with PSP is any where from 6 to 9 years. My Aunt has had it for 6 years. My mother who is 84 was her main care giver. I would go twice a week to bathe her and wash her hair and take her to any and all doctor appointments. She was bedridden and could no longer feed herself. My mother feed her all her meals. To expain it better I copied from google what it effects....

Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects the brain cells that produce dopamine, a neurotransmitter responsible for movement.
Parkinson's disease can affect various aspects of a person's life, including:
Movement: Tremors, rigidity, slowness of movement, difficulty walking and balancing
Cognition: Memory, attention, planning, and problem-solving
Mood and Behavior: Depression, anxiety, and sleep disturbances
Autonomic function: Bladder and bowel problems, orthostatic hypotension (dizziness upon standing up)
Sensory function: Loss of smell, pain, and other sensory changes
Other: Fatigue, difficulty swallowing, and changes in handwriting
It's important to note that Parkinson's disease can manifest differently in different individuals, and the severity and progression of symptoms can vary widely.

This last week she stopped eating. I took her to emergency room on Tuesday. They admitted her that night. I requested that they insert a feeding tube and a Foley. Hospital did both. After surgery the doctor said her breathing was a little labored then the following day her heart stopped. They did everything to bring her back which they did. Her heart starting beating again. They told us at that time that her heart was not able to sustain life. It was then we knew that we had to let her go. A DNR was signed and this morning she passed. We ask if you can please donate to help us in her end of life needs. We will use this money to cremate hopefully have a little service, viewing, death certificates, and urn. Thank you
