Enochs Wind Ensemble Carnegie Hall

Under the direction of Phil Vallejo the Director of the Instrumental Music program at James Enochs High School, in Modesto, California.  A group of students from the Modesto City Schools district are traveling  March 2nd – March 7th to New York City, to participate in the New York City Wind Band Festival.   They will take part in workshops and a music exchange with a high school from Vermont. as well as performing on stage at Carnegie Hall.  It’s an exciting opportunity for these students.  

The ensemble on stage consists of students from the Modesto City Schools district.  While the ensemble is mostly from Enochs High School, there are also representatives from Beyer High School and Modesto High School.  We are happy to be able to travel together and to bring this great opportunity to each school.  We hope that this will open the door for future endeavors of this nature.  The Modesto City Schools district has a proud history of music, which include some national championships in the marching band competition area as well as notoriety as great concert band and orchestral programs. 

There are 72 travelers which includes chaperones and staff.

The remaining funding we are trying to raise will go towards shipment of our instruments, group sweatshirts a trip to the Central Park Zoo or another group activity and meals.  It will depend on what we can raise.

We are hoping to raise $8,000 by February , 15 2017.  Can we meet the goal in just a short time period?
