Empowering Lives Through Liver Cancer Support
Tax deductible
I'm starting this fundraiser to give back to the community and honouring those where were unlucky.
Types of Liver Cancer in the United States:
Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)
Location: Begins in hepatocytes, the main liver cells.
Prevalence: Approximately 75-85% of liver cancer cases.
Affected Population: Most common form, primarily impacting individuals with chronic liver diseases such as cirrhosis and hepatitis.
Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer)
Location: Originates in the bile ducts, which transport bile from the liver to the small intestine.
Prevalence: About 10-15% of cases.
Affected Population: Often diagnosed at a later stage; it can arise either inside or outside the liver.
Hepatoblastoma
Location: Affects liver cells.
Prevalence: Less than 2% of liver cancer cases.
Affected Population: Primarily occurs in young children.
Angiosarcoma
Location: Begins in the blood vessels of the liver.
Prevalence: Less than 2% of cases.
Affected Population: A rare and aggressive form of cancer, often diagnosed at an advanced stage.
Estimated Cases (2023)
Total New Cases: Approximately 43,000 liver cancer cases.
HCC: About 32,250 cases (75%).
Cholangiocarcinoma: About 6,450 cases (15%).
Other Types (Hepatoblastoma and Angiosarcoma): Fewer than 1,000 cases combined.
I personally believe that giving back to the community strengths our society. So please join me and let's help lives together.
