Impoverished villagers in the Armenian town of Vaghatin are struggling to find income, beneficial work, and healthy food. Our friend, Davit Ghazaryan, proposes to train 20 village families as beekeepers, and provide each of them with a hive of bees this spring.

Armenia has a lot of experience and a rich tradition of beekeeping, they only need a small amount of funds to run this training and buy bee families for the villagers of Vaghatin to start their journey.

I am from Franklin, Maine, my name is Jason Chandler, and I have known Davit and his family for twenty years. This winter was my most recent visit to Vaghatin. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer and lived in Armenia from 2007-09.
