Empower Creative Women: Fund "Tres Vidas" short film

Hi!

My Name is Melinda Elise. I am currently fundraising for my first ever narrative short film project Tres Vidas.

The Short Film

Now you’re probably wondering what is my short film Tres Vidas about and why should I donate. Well, this film project is one that hits close to home for me. My story is about a young Latina, who while in her twenties is struggling to find herself and what she wants to do in life. Metaphorically she feels trapped, like she's drowning and cant get to the surface. But soon she is visited by two very important people in her life. Her mother and her grandma, telling her their stories of struggles, and success. By encouraging her, pushing her to the surface and breaking through, so she can follow her heart and use her creative mind.

My Goal

My Goal for this project is to take my creative vision and show case it to the world. But most importantly, to show people a story of three generations of strong women and inspire all generations of creative women like myself, to defy the odds, push the through their struggles mentally and physically. But most of all to follow their heart to do what they truly love.

Inspiration

I am drawing inspiration for my short film from 2 of my favorite films such as;

Patricia Cardoso "Real women have curves" to show the beautiful story telling, but also showing the Hispanic culture and seriousness of the film.

Greta Gerwigs "Barbie" Using the the vibrant colors in the environment throughout my film. but also telling the importance of being a woman. By following your heart and doing whatever you set your mind to.
