Emily's surgery and treatment...part 2

As mostly everyone knows; my little sister, Emily, unfortunately developed thyroid cancer last year at the ridiculously young age of 27. She had surgery to remove her thyroid as well as several lymph nodes. We did not expect to be right back where we started a year ago but here we are. A couple of weeks ago we got the gut-wrenching news that the cancer has returned to a few other lymph nodes and she will be having another surgery, specifically a neck dissection, in a few weeks on September 21st. Ironically that's the day before our dad's birthday. This past year has been incredibly trying for our family as our dad lost his battle to cancer just 9 months ago; just as Emily was recovering from her cancer scare and treatment. It seems we're still not out of the darkest part of our lives but there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel. Asking for help is such a difficult decision to come to and even more so when we just went through all of this less than a year ago. Incredibly, we received the overwhelming generosity of family, friends, and even complete strangers. We are again asking whoever reads this to help Emily get through these next few months as she will yet again have to miss significant amounts of work and already the bills are piling up.
