Emergency Response: Pakistan Flood Relief

Pakistan is currently experiencing extremely heavy rainfall, resulting in catastrophic flash flooding across the country. With over 33 Million people affected, 1,000 dead and millions displaced.

Many parts of Pakistan have become inaccessible, and rescuers are struggling to evacuate thousands of stranded people from affected areas. Balochistan and Sindh provinces are the hardest hit areas.

The AHS Foundation are responding, providing emergency relief to those most in need.

Over 220,000 homes have been destroyed

A staggering 33 million people had been badly affected by the flooding according to local government, while the Pakistan’s disaster agency has said nearly 220,000 homes were destroyed and half a million more badly damaged.

In Sindh alone over 2 million acres of cultivated crops has been wiped out. The local communities are heavily reliant on their crop to feed themselves.

Prior to the most recent monsoon rains, authorities had confirmed that 977km of road infrastructure and 61 bridges have been destroyed, the situation has worsened with the most recent monsoon rains, which poses an even more severe threat to the lives of millions of people.

Without access to urgent medical aid, food, clean water, and adequate shelter, those who have fled to higher ground will be at even more risk.
