Evacuation Fund: Get my relatives out of Gaza

Hi my name is Zein Gowie, and as per the request of my relatives in Gaza, I am fundraising to help facilitate their evacuation into Egypt.

They've been displaced in Gaza for months, having lost their home in Khan Younis along with their livelihoods when the evacuation orders were given, they are now sharing a small room in a shelter in Al-Mawasi. Being 9 members of the family, amongst them are two elderly grandparents who have underlying health conditions and limited medications to hand. There are four children aged between 15 years and 6 weeks old, the youngest having been delivered in a car due to lack of access to hospitals. They are extremely vulnerable and traumatised, in fear of losing their lives every day.

They have survived mass bombardment over the past 6 months and have lost everything including the precious home that gave them security and peace as a family. The children are scared to sleep and adults helpless in protecting their elderly parents and young children. The sound of bombs is a daily occurrence and they are distraught at the loss of neighbours and friends killed around them.

As we have witnessed on the news, not enough supplies of medication and food are being delivered into Gaza and it has become far too expensive to purchase necessities. Food is scarce and they are surviving on food aid packages. Their daily activities of work and school have been replaced with the desperate search for food, water, and shelter.

Our plea - how you can help:

The cost of evacuation is astronomical, currently at $2,500 for a child 16 and under, and $5,000 for every person over the age of 16. We are paying for 5 x $5000 and 4 x $2500 at these rates, totalling $35,000.

Your kindness and donations can provide a pathway to peace and survival for my family.

Our mission is to raise £35,000 to cover the costs of evacuation for 9 individuals between the ages of 1.5 months and 76 years. Meeting this goal quickly is critical and this situation has become dire most recently.

We assure you that your money will be directly withdrawn from GoFundMe by Zein Gowie, who will transfer the money to a trusted family member in Cairo to help facilitate the transition of the family members in Gaza.

With no regulated process in place to geting the families across the border, and there is a risk that they will not be able to cross, however we will do our best to keep you updated via this page and other streams of communication.
