It honestly breaks us a bit to put this out there, because I think a lot of us carry too much pride. That being said, in these already hard times (fingers crossed good things happen for the economy soon – and let this not be an opportunity to talk politics) our folks have run into a significant financial situation.

Our mom, Laurie, has suffered a few bouts with kidney stones. Her most recent situation was quite severe. She had multiple, with 1 being so large that it had stopped a kidney from working at all for months, leaving the other kidney doing all the work. She needed emergency surgery and had a short stay in the hospital following, along with some follow-up appointments. She has some lingering issues, but I will leave things here for her privacy. She is working with doctors on preventative care for her future.

Our dad is the best man we have ever known. A man of God, a great father, the best friend, a good leader, and the hardest worker. He carries pride, and that is where we break a bit. But we all must swallow that sometimes, right? If, in these times, you have anything you can spare, we would greatly appreciate support for our family.

All donations will go to medical expenses for Laurie’s kidney surgery that took place April 7th.
