Elvys Funeral Donations

Dear Community,

We come to you today with heavy hearts but also with hope. We wish to honor the life of Elvys, one of our remarkable patients, and offer our support to his grieving family.

Elvys was diagnosed with a Grade III astrocytoma, an incurable and aggressive brain cancer, in 2017 while living in the Dominican Republic. Over the past several years he faced this challenge with unwavering courage. Before his diagnosis, Elvys loved playing baseball, spending time with his younger brother and cousins, and helping his community.

Over the years, Elvys underwent numerous surgeries and treatments and unfortunately lost his ability to walk and move the right side of his body. Despite these challenges he always maintained his composure and unwavering confidence. His intelligence, humility, and determination inspired us all.

On September 13, 2023, at the young age of 24, Elvys peacefully passed away. As we mourn his loss, we recognize the financial burden his family now faces in arranging his funeral.

We, the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership Program (EHHOP), kindly ask our community for support. Please help us honor Elvys's memory and support his family during this challenging time. Your generosity will make a significant difference and will help his family cover the expense of a wake, mass, and burial.

Querida comunidad,

Venimos a ustedes hoy con el corazón apesadumbrado pero también con esperanza. Deseamos honrar la vida de Elvys, uno de nuestros notables pacientes, y ofrecer nuestro apoyo a su afligida familiar.

A Elvys le diagnosticaron un astrocitoma de grado III, un cáncer cerebral agresivo e incurable, en 2017 mientras vivía en República Dominicana. Durante los últimos años afrontó este desafío con valentía inquebrantable. Antes de su diagnóstico, a Elvys le encantaba jugar béisbol, pasar tiempo con su hermano menor y sus primos y ayudar a su comunidad.

A lo largo de los años, Elvys se sometió a numerosas cirugías y tratamientos y lamentablemente perdió la capacidad de caminar y mover el lado derecho de su cuerpo. A pesar de estos desafíos, siempre mantuvo la compostura y la confianza inquebrantable. Su inteligencia, humildad y determinación nos inspiraron a todos.

El 13 de septiembre de 2023, a la temprana edad de 24 años, Elvys falleció pacíficamente. Mientras lamentamos su pérdida, reconocemos la carga financiera que ahora enfrenta su familia al organizar su funeral.

Nosotros, el Programa de Asociación de Extensión de Salud de East Harlem (EHHOP), solicitamos amablemente apoyo a nuestra comunidad. Ayúdenos a honrar la memoria de Elvys y apoye a su familia durante este momento difícil. Su generosidad marcará una diferencia significativa y ayudará a su familia a cubrir los gastos del velorio, la misa y el entierro.
