Help Elisandra&Fabrizio on their fertility journey

Hi everyone! My name is Sabrina Deliso. I am putting together a GoFundMe page for my closest and dearest friend, Elisanda Sinopoli.

She and her fiancé, Fabrizio, would like to begin their fertility journey. Not only would I like to give my friend the blessings of motherhood, but I would also like to bring awareness and education to others on the disease of infertility and how it can impact the lives of whom it may touch.

Elisandra and Fabrizio began dating at age 17 and became engaged in 2021. They were high school sweethearts and always dreamed of starting a family together. Elisandra, an Early Childhood Educator, also began to dedicate her life to the children at her daycare centres and Kindergarten classrooms. In interacting with her little students, Elisandra knew it sealed the deal: she wanted to be a mom someday. Unfortunately, Elisandra has experienced her share of health complications that now makes this dream difficult.

In 2017, after much suffering and multiple health crises, Elisandra underwent her first surgery (a myomectomy) to remove multiple large fibroids on the inner part of her uterus. The surgery, although successful at the time, did not rid Elisandra of her complications. 4 years later, she was once again experiencing similar symptoms, and met with multiple doctors to determine the root cause of her health issues.

In 2022 , at the age of 26, Elisandra was diagnosed with Intravenous Leiomyomatosis. This rare condition does not normally affect people in her age group, and so it came as quite the shock. Intravenous Leiomymatosis are fibroids that surround the uterus, but also extend to the left common iliac vein in the pelvic area. It can be life threatening and could spread to the lungs and heart. Following many appointments, CT scans, MRI’s, blood work, ultrasounds and many medications, there was no positive result. The only remaining option became an abdominal hysterectomy.

December 1st 2022, Elisandra underwent her abdominal hysterectomy and doctors were able to remove the fibroids, uterus, cervix, bilateral Fallopian tube, and the fibroid that was wrapped around the vein inside of the uterus. Due to the nature and severity of the surgery, gynaecologists and a vascular surgeon were present for the 6 hour surgery.

Although a drastic measure had to be taken, Elisandra received some very positive news: the doctors were able to save her ovaries during the surgery, giving her the hope that her eggs could be preserved and frozen. Elisandra and Fabrizio are praying that one day, they may be able to find a surrogate to carry their child and give them the great gift of parenthood.

Watching my friend go through this has been a trying and painful experience. It saddens me that she will not be able to experience natural pregnancy and childbirth the way that many others may take for granted. Being educated on her story has also taught me that conditions such as these come with a heavy and strenuous financial burden. It puts emotional, physical and mental strain on anyone who is affected. Therefore, I would like to call upon anyone who may be in a place to donate to this wonderful cause and support my best friend in starting her own family. Any little bit helps and means so much to this loving and deserving couple.
