Hi, my name is Kirsten. I’m 34 years old and currently living without an income while managing multiple disabilities.
Every day is a struggle to meet basic needs, and unexpected expenses are impossible to cover.
This campaign exists because I truly have no other way to afford what I need.
Writing this is hard for me. I’ve always tried to manage on my own, even when my body made that difficult. But right now, I need help.
I live with Multiple Sclerosis and Crohn’s disease, alongside severe anxiety. These conditions don’t just affect my health – they shape every part of my daily life. Fatigue, pain, sudden flare-ups, and panic attacks make public transportation unreliable and, at times, impossible.
For many people, a car is a convenience.
For me, it is the difference between isolation and participation in life.
After eight years of intense driving anxiety, I finally fought my way back behind the wheel. Step by step, I rebuilt trust in myself. Being able to drive again gave me something I hadn’t felt in a long time: freedom, confidence, and dignity.
Then, without warning, the car I relied on was taken away.
It belonged to my family on paper, even though I was the sole driver and paid the costs. One day, it was simply gone. With it went my independence.
Now I struggle to get to medical appointments, to buy groceries, or even to leave the house safely. Walking long distances is difficult. Carrying heavy bags is often impossible. And when anxiety hits, I can’t just “push through” and take a bus.
I don’t know how my MS will progress in the future.
What I do know is that right now, I am still able to drive – and I don’t want to lose that ability because I waited too long.
I am raising funds for a small, reliable car so I can:
• attend medical appointments independently
• manage daily errands without risking my health
• remain as self-sufficient as possible despite chronic illness
Asking for help feels vulnerable. But this isn’t about comfort or luxury.
This is about maintaining autonomy, safety, and quality of life.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign helps just as much.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of this moment in my life.
Even small acts of support mean more than I can put into words.
