Helping a Family From Becoming Homeless
Donation protected
Hello to all you lovely people.
The short version is that we will become homeless at some stage in the next couple of months. We were not able to pay out rent at the end of December and were issued a 14 day warning on the 7th of January. Realistically we will not be able to pay the rent within the next 11 days and the estate agent has stated that they will terminate the tenancy if we do not pay the rent before the 14 days expire, it’s a bit of a crucifixion considering we have paid rent on time for over 2 years.
My husband has been unemployed since February 2019 due to his spinal injury and does not receive and form of support from the state as he has not made enough PRSI contributions.
He is now self-employed running a food van but has taken significant financial blows from a UK supplier that literally has stolen from us and caused a two month delay to opening the business, which intern resulted in a two month loss of income. We have made further losses but the business is starting to run well enough to pay expenses but it is unlikely that he will be able to draw an income in January or February.
We made an offer to our agent to have the one months rent paid over the next two months but they shut that option down so fast, the landlord is not willing to negotiate, so we will become homeless at some stage as we have no family for support or to assist in anyway. We are completely on our own!
On top of this my youngest has very bad depression and social anxiety and has not left the house in over a year and is suicidal and to top it all off my husbands doctor wants him to go for a spinal fusion before it is too late.
we would truly appreciate any help that anyone is able to provide
