Eddie's Love For Life

Hi, 

My name is Lynn. The first picture above is of Eddie and  his long time companion, Captain. The immediate picture above is of Eddie and me at a Disney on Ice show.

Eddie is a Special Needs individual.

I have known and worked with Eddie for several years. For the past three years I've also served as one of Eddie's care givers. Since his dad, George, passed away I have become Eddie's primary care giver.

Eddie’s mom, Joan, died in 2012 from cancer. Eddie’s dad, George, passed away in November of 2020 from heart failure and COVID-19 which now leaves Eddie to fend for himself.

Eddie is a 40 year “special needs” individual. Over the years Eddie has had 33 surgeries. Among them he has had steel rods inserted to stabilize his back. In addition, Eddie has scoliosis.

Why This Funding Is So Important.

Eddie wishes to stay in the apartment that he shared with his father since a group home could prove to be dangerous to Eddie for if he injured his back substantially he could become immobilized and paralyzed.

Eddie now lives with his longtime companion, Captain, his 11 year old dog.

Eddie will be needing  ongoing support for everyday living expenses as well as medical care as he ages. These include significant dental costs as well as future vet costs for Captain.

Although Eddie had an exceedingly difficult time growing up a child due to the numerous surgeries, he developed a very loving and positive outlook on life. He faithfully serves at his church in ministries such as the Car’s ministry, Special Friends, and the Care Center. 

Eddie is very outgoing and is a friend to all who come in contact with him.

 Eddie loves to sing and is on the praise and worship team at his local church. You would enjoy knowing and being with him.

This is a picture of Eddie at a car museum in Chicago. Many of Eddie's operations were performed at the Shriner's hospital. The Shriner's hold a special place in Eddie's heart for all that they have done for him.
