Raise Hearts of Hope's Roof!
We help heal nearly 1,000 sexual abuse victims every year under our roof. Help us heal thousands more.
The Hearts of Hope facilities in Lafayette, La., are in desperate need of restoration of our roof. Unfortunately, the average estimates are 37,000 and out of our budget, so we are looking to the communities we serve--Lafayette, Acadia, Vermilion, Iberia, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Landry and Evangeline parishes--to help us "raise the roof"!
About Us:
Hearts of Hope, formerly known as Stuller Place, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency whose aim is to reduce the trauma experienced by child and adult victims of sexual abuse and sexual assault. All services are confidential and are completed without expense for the clients.
Hearts of Hope houses three programs at our facilities: Sexual Abuse Response Center (SARC), Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) and the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE). Our administration and staff carry out the distinct missions of these programs as one organization.
SARC provides a 24-hour crisis line, advocacy in local emergency rooms and crisis intervention counseling for children and adults. In addition, SARC has an active prevention education program that targets 2nd, 7th, and 9th graders in Acadiana area schools.
CAC provides a child-friendly environment where a forensic interview and mental health services for children ages 2-17 can be conducted when abuse allegations are investigated.
SANE provides a forensically trained nurse to conduct and document skillful forensic evidence collection with compassionate care when a patient makes a disclosure of sexual assault.
