Sabrina Cancer sucks

Cancer Sucks! You’ve either heard this statement, and hopefully not, you or a loved one experienced it. Cancer really does suck: it steals your joy, potentially shortens your time with others and creates a major upheaval into your finances. And this is no different for Sabrina.

Sabrina is a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, friend, and nurse extraordinaire whom I've been blessed to know. As a nurse, Sabrina is positive and empathetic. She thinks of others and is always willing to help those in need. She is kind and treats everyone equally. No one feels left out around her. She worked through the COVID pandemic as a bedside nurse and was dedicated to caring for those affected by COVID. While supporting her patients, she also boosted her peers' morale.

In May of 2022, Sabrina was diagnosed with aggressive pancreatic cancer. At the time of diagnosis, the cancer had already spread to most of her major organs: lungs, liver, bones, lymph nodes and even her left eye. She has gone through all rounds of radiation and currently is doing chemotherapy with the goal of alleviating her pain but not curing the disease. Despite the diagnosis, treatments, and pain, Sabrina continued to serve her patients and supported her colleagues. She finally took a leave of absence in June 2022.
