Hi my name is Taliesin Tardrew-O'Meara and I am a 17 year old student currently studying year 12. I live with my Mum, brother and sister in East Lismore, NSW.
Recently I was selected to play in the NSW All Schools Baseball team, which will be competing in the National Competition in Perth from 2nd - 7th May 2016. This is an absolutely huge opportunity as it provides me with a chance to play in Australia's top level baseball competition in front of scouts and selectors allowing exposure to a professional scene and providing further opportunities for my dream of being selected to represent my country in baseball and eventually play professionally.
The tournament's cost exceeds $4000 and all money raised will go towards the cost of playing in the tournament, tournament levy, accommodation, car hire, flights, etc.
Selections took place on the 6th of April and the short notice has left us with only 3 weeks to raise the money for this event.
My mother is a primary school teacher and works independently to support me, my sister and my brother. My mother and I have managed to cover the costs of past tournaments but the large expense required for this tournament and the short notice have left us little time to organise money, our only avenue is now to fundraise.
This is my last available opportunity to play in the NSW All Schools Baseball team during my last year of school. The significance of my selection is huge as I am only the second person from the Far North Coast region in recent years to have been selected for this team.
Baseball is a huge part of my life and I hope to continue to pursue my dream and to one day play professionally. I would be incredibly grateful for any financial support or help in raising funds.
