Keep Eli in Michael's Life!

Michael Hayes is a beloved community member, massage therapist and DJ who has a beautiful 3-year-old son, Eli. Every time I have asked Michael how Eli is doing over the past 3 years I hear the overflowing love in his voice. Michael and Eli's mother are no longer together, which has led to some custody issues that require financial support for Michael. Here is his message to you:

I know I have not been in touch much ... Raising my son, Eli, has taken most of my time and attention these last three years. I am writing to you now because I need help to stay in my son's life. His mother has moved to NJ against my wishes and the Court's instructions and she is refusing to share custody. Right now she is limiting my contact with Eli.

After I traveled 45 minutes in the rain to NJ to visit Eli this Sunday, my visit was cut off at 45 minutes by her boyfriend who now lives with her and with Eli.

I have been trying to come to an agreement with her and her lawyer using a public defender. It has not gone well. I need a good lawyer to keep my son in my life. I am writing to ask you donate anything you can to hire a good lawyer. The retainer will be $5,000. If you can contribute anything, please do. No amount is too small! I need to hire a lawyer in the next few days.
