Dylan Elissiry Enchanted Hills Camp Eagle Project

My name is Dylan Elissiry and I am a Life Scout in Troop 815 located in Danville, CA. As part of the journey to reaching Scouting's highest award, Eagle Scout, it is necessary to complete a service project which I find, plan, and lead under the guidance of my beneficiary and Eagle Advisor. The project that I have chosen to undertake is for the Lighthouse for the Blind and will more specifically benefit the Enchanted Hills Camp in Napa, CA which is the only camp for the blind and visually impaired in California. It is located in 311 acres of pristine redwood forest.

They have asked me to construct a 16'x16' wood sleeping platform and two benches in their camp as a way for visually impaired children and adults to better connect with nature and be able to spend a night sleeping amongst the trees and stars. One crucial step of this service project is fundraising for the materials needed to construct the platform and benches.

For this project, I need to fundraise $2,200 which will go towards a concrete block foundation, a pressure-treated wood frame, and beautiful redwood to ensure that the platform and benches will last for multiple decades. Any extra funds will go directly to the camp as a donation to help any other needs that they might have. Any amount of money would be greatly appreciated as it will be going to a great organization and cause.
