What makes a person's life one that is dedicated to music? Is it the melody of their voices to the songs they choose to sing? Is it the training of musicians to sing with or accompany the song? Is it the countless hours of studying music and praying to find the right songs and lyrics that will change lives? Or is it the enumerous late night rehearsals, midnight musicals, and weekend city tours? Or maybe it is the vans loaded with singers headed to college nights, church services, funerals, revivals, and conferences? Perhaps its the countless dollars spent to make sure after every service, his choir didn't go home hungry. What makes a person's life full of music? One may not know but the beloved Deacon Dwight Warren can probably begin to tell you.
His life of music began with his mother and father, and continued with his siblings, then into his community and the surrounding areas and now he has made a national name for himself in gospel music. Singing, teaching, and restoring joy to the music ministry, Dwight L. Warren is a living legend. His work has made its mark on the lives and hearts of many.
Those who have been impacted by the music ministry of Dwight cannot deny him and his family's labor of love. For every rehearsal, van ride, grilled rib, trip to any given restaurant, it is clear that many of us are indebted to his service.
Closer to the beginning of 2017, Dwight was informed that he is in need of a heart transplant. During the year, he has spent a significant amount of time in the hospital. He has even had to relocate to Tucson, AZ to be closer to his team of doctors.
All of this has come at a great expense. We would like to relieve some of the stress and help him prepare for a life changing operation by raising this fund for him and his family.
Also to prepare and encourage Dwight for what's ahead, there will be a concert held on January 13th featuring some of the people who have worked with him through his tenure as a minstrel. The songs ministered on that night are some of his all time favorite and some of the best kept secrets in the gospel world will be their to share their talents. Join us in celebrating a living legend and bless him and his family as they embark on a year that will be life changing.
