Cherie Reddick Medical Expenses

On February 18, 2023, Heaven gained another beautiful angel, my mother Cherie Denise Reddick, who passed away due to complications after heart surgery. My mom was so full of life and had so much love to give to everyone. She leaves behind her husband Charles, her mother Barbara, her brother John, and her daughter Danielle (me). Right now all I ask for is help with her recent medical bills from the last three weeks.

On January 30, 2023, my mom became too short of breath after battling a round of what she thought was either a bad cold, Covid, or pneumonia. My stepdad Charles took her to the emergency room in Livingston, TX where they believed she may have had congestive heart failure. She was transported to CHI St. Luke's hospital in The Woodlands for a proper diagnosis and testing. There, it was discovered she did have pneumonia and her heart was not pumping/beating as it should.

On January 31st, she was taken to the heart cath lab for what should have been a simple procedure to insert a catheter into her heart to perform a scope so they could see what was actually happening. However, just minutes before the procedure could take place, my mom's heart gave out and she went into cardiac arrest. After being shocked 43 times with repeating rounds of CPR, they were able to bring her back and stabilize her heart enough, but she had to be put on life support. She even woke back up for two days

On February 2nd, my mom was transferred to the medical center downtown Houston to Baylor St. Luke's, where she was placed in the cardiovascular critical care center. There, they were able to perform the original procedure and find out she needed a triple bypass heart surgery. They unfortunately had to keep her in a medically induced coma because she was so much of a fighter and her heart was not getting the rest it needed.

On February 13th, my mom underwent the triple bypass surgery, but there were still complications. On February 14th (Valentine's Day), they had to reopen her because of a leaking artery in her heart from the bypass surgery. The next day, her kidneys were not functioning as they should, so she was put on dialysis.

At 5:54am on February 18, 2023, my mom gave up her fight and went home to heaven. She will be heavily missed and forever loved. She was my best friend, my strength, my inspiration, my rock, my everything. It doesn't feel real yet, and I would give anything to see her beautiful blue eyes and hear her voice again.

Unfortunately, my mom was not on insurance as of February 1st since my stepdad Charles had just been laid off work as of January 19th. Therefore, all we are asking is for assistance to help cover the medical bills and expenses for the time she was in the hospital.
