Ajay's rehabilitation and recovery fund

UPDATE (8/20/2023):
My brother, Ajay has just completed his (hopefully) last procedure with regards to the AVM. He is undergoing extensive occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy to help him relearn his way back to being independent again. We thank every single one of you who have contributed to his recovery, he would not have been able to do it without your generous support and prayers. Unfortunately, the cost of therapy is still high and we must meet our goal in order for Ajay to fully receover. We're so close already, please help if you are able!
-------
My brother Ajay Sarup, who lives in Virginia, was on holiday in Argentina with his wife when he suffered a large AVM rupture (a congenital defect that he wasn't aware of) in his brain. His wife Juhi rushed him to the nearest hospital, but by the time he reached, he was already in a coma. A surgeon had to put an EVD in his brain to save his life. He was then transferred to a nearby neurological hospital where the AVM could only be partially embolized due to how deep in the brain it was. Unfortunately, he suffered a re-bleed shortly after and was kept in a medically-induced coma to prevent more bleeds.
My brother remained in the hospital in Argentina for a month until he was deemed stable enough to be transported by air ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he remained in a coma for over a month. When he came out of the coma, we discovered that the rupture had paralyzed the left side of his body and that significant rehab would be necessary to make a full recovery. During his time in Argentina, he also contracted a rare form of MRSA Meningitis, Pneumonia, and multiple other infections. In his nearly 5 month stay in the NCCU at Johns Hopkins, he contracted MSRA Meningitis twice, Gram-Positive E-coli, multiple UTIs, and had a shunt surgery for Hydrocephalus, which has all set back his road to recovery.
We hoped to transfer my brother to an in-patient rehabilitation facility, but the good facilities in the area rejected him. They said his case was complex and that they lacked the necessary resources to adequately care for him. The choice was to either put him in a sub-standard facility with a ratio of 1 nurse for 25 patients or to take him home. Ajay is unable to hold his head up and is bedridden; he needs two people to help him meet his daily needs. His job also had to let him go last year due to the AVM rupture and he is paying for his own insurance, which covers very little of his home healthcare needs. To have any quality care at home, the family will have to pay out of pocket. His wife does not work and has no source of income. She will be his full-time caregiver and one-half of the 24/7 care he needs, as the costs of his medical care are already astronomical.
We would like to move him to India but that can only be accomplished after the part of the AVM that was not embolized in Argentina is treated. This needs to happen as soon as he's strong enough to go through another angio procedure, as it may re-bleed at any time.
100% of the money donated to this fundraiser will go towards paying for Ajay's recovery. If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser widely. We can use all the help we can get.
