The Dr. Doris McNeely Johnson Memorial Scholarship for Academic Excellence
A one-time scholarship has been established in rememberance of Dr. Doris McNeely Johnson to honor her memory and to celebrate her love of the pursuit of academic excellence.
She attended Howard University over a span of 30 plus years and during that time received her bachelor, master, and doctorate degrees, all in psychology.
She pursued a career borne of her love of teaching and became a professor of psychology at the University of the District of Columbia. During the course of her career she taught and touched the lives of many students.
Academic excellence and the pursuit of it were an important part of Doris's life, and Howard played an integral role in shaping her life long love affair with learning and teaching.
To honor the legacy of Doris's life, we are establishing this scholarship to be awarded to a deserving high school senior interested in the pursuit of excellence in psychology at Howard University.
