I made this fundraiser because my sister, Nicole (Niki) Jones, and her partner, Scott Pillsbury, are in need of help following an accident that occurred the Friday right before Memorial Day 2022. That afternoon, a motorist driving a large pickup truck is believed to have experienced a medical incident and drove through the house they are renting and into the adjacent yard. It was reported on local news later that day.

Luckily, neither of them suffered major injuries. However, they are very shaken, in addition to having been displaced. The house is boarded up, and they have had to seek housing at a local hotel. In addition to all of this happening, their employment situation changed for the worse just a day prior. They are having to deal with all of this plus the additional task of looking for work. Right now, their immediate needs include housing and food. 

 

They are only set for the hotel room for a few days, and require separate housing due to my sister being immunocompromised. They will need longer-term housing with a kitchen. Because of the work situation changing, finding another lease or trying to buy a house will be difficult. Shorter-term housing, such as an Airbnb rental, is being considered.

 

Any amount that can be donated will be much appreciated, and funds received will go towards expenses, as described with the rough estimates below:

 

-- $8000 for a month for Airbnb (short-term rental with a proper kitchen with which to prepare food)

-- $900 for food for the month (my sister has a variety of health issues and requires a special diet)

-- $900 to replace food they just bought but is now ruined (the power was cut after the crash)

-- $1000+ to replace furniture, TV, appliances, etc (antiques and family heirlooms can’t be replaced, but functional equivalents can be sought)
-- $2500+ to replace catalytic converter that was stolen from my sister's car while parked at the hotel

-- $1000+ as buffer for other unexpected expenditures
