I want to introduce you to one of the greatest human beings I have ever known. Her name is Sierra and she is my daughter. She is 34 years young and has always been kind, giving, supportive, and loving to all who enters her life. She would give the shirt off her back to help someone else in need. She works in the medical field as a medical assistant to help others. Her heart is bigger than any other I have ever seen. I would like to tell you about her journey with Neuroendocrine Small Cell Carcinoma (a very rare and aggressive cancer) and hope that after hearing her story you can find it in your heart to help her with some of the high expenses that she has and will incur along the way.

At age 33, in the late part of 2023, she was living her life with the wonderful man she fell in love with. They were a few years into their relationship and were planning a future together. She was diagnosed with this rare cancer which originated in her cervix. She immediately started an aggressive set of chemo and radiation treatments. We traveled to Portland a few times for internal radiation at OHSU. Through all of this, she remained strong and always put a smile on to cover the pain and sickness she was feeling inside. This took such a toll on her body. She will never be able to have children now. She was okay with this as long as she had her life. She had so many bills that she incurred from all of this, but she put both feet on the ground, set up payment plans with everyone, and proceeded to work as hard as she could to make things right. At the end of 2023, after finishing up with all the treatments, she was told that the cancer was gone.

Her hair finally started growing back. She started to feel better and she was starting to live her life again. She moved in with her boyfriend and they made plans for a future together. In February of 2024, she had a PET scan done and it came back clear with no cancer. That weight that was sitting on all of us lifted off and we were able to breathe and have hope once again. Then, in the beginning of October of 2024, she started experiencing pain in her chest and side. She went to the ER where they did some CT scans and found that she had lesions on her lungs, liver, and kidneys. That horrible news that no one ever wants to hear was back. The cancer has metastasized and riddled its way through her body. I can't even explain to you the heaviness and darkness that swept through me when I got that news. I fell to my knees and begged God to take it from her and give it to me instead.

Her journey with it this time will be much longer. The treatments will be systematic and she will likely be dealing with this cancer chronically because it has spread so much. The option for surgery is out of the question. She keeps her hope and faith through all of this. She told me that she will continue to fight until she can't fight no more. My heart has never been so heavy!

With the cancer and sickness she has to go through again, all of her expenses and bills will now stack up again on top of all the others that she has. She has so much weight on her shoulders right now and she would never ask anyone for financial help because of the kind of person she is. That is why I am asking for help for her.
