In 2020, I contracted COVID for the first time and developed long COVID, which damaged my nervous system. Because of this, I was diagnosed with a disabling condition: hemiplegic migraine, one of the most debilitating and painful forms of migraine. When I get a migraine, which is often, I suffer from all of the symptoms of a stroke: difficulty moving my body, significant pain, aphasia (speech slurring), brain fog, and more.

I was recently referred to a medical practice where they use targeted micro-currents to heal damaged nerves, relieve chronic pain, and more. I went in for a consultation and initial treatment, which provided some immediate relief. However, my insurance decided they didn't want to cover these visits, which are $100 each, cash price. It was recommended that I have 3 sessions a week for at least two months, which would total around $1500 a month (3k for 2 months).

My colleagues and I were recently fired from our long-standing church job without notice, and I have been out of work for over a month recovering from a significant endometriosis surgery, which means I have had no income for that time and haven't been able to find a new job that accommodates the constraints of my disability.

I know we are all struggling. If you have anything extra to spare, please consider sharing it. My quality of life would increase significantly with these treatments, and it would allow me to participate in everyday life without being in as much pain. These treatments help people with migraines enjoy a much more regular life. All funds raised will go towards these treatments!
