Hey guys! You all know my mom, Mary. Back in December, she was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer and has already undergone a partial mastectomy and lymph node removal. Now the doctors want to do at least three chemo treatments, and Medicare doesn't cover all of it. There may be additional treatments needed beyond that as well. Also, X-rays show that the brain tumor she had removed in 1998 has returned. They cannot do a biopsy, nor any surgery on that, until we know where she is after the chemo treatments.

My parents have no transportation into Reno aside from the Amtrak trains. Going back and forth, a few days after her surgery, was very tough. Although they will have housing there, they still need to provide transportation for themselves and all other expenses. As you can imagine, they are on a fixed income. Each chemo treatment will cost about $550. They may do radiation depending upon her reaction to chemo. We don't know yet. We are asking for $3,000 to assist in covering possible further treatments and living expenses for their travels.

I can't be there all the time. Obviously, our distance apart is an issue. I'm asking for help for her. I just can't cover everything.
