Help Our Young Family Find Safety and Stability

Hi, my name is Kaylee, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my little family — my fiancé Ranger, our 9-month-old baby River Lee, and our unborn child (I’m currently 5 ½ months pregnant). We’re both 19 years old and currently facing an unjust eviction that could leave us on the streets by July 8th.

We’ve been battling homelessness for over a year and a half, trying everything we can to stay afloat. Most recently, we’ve been staying in a motel where we’ve been paying our rent as agreed. Unfortunately, after I stood up for our basic rights by calling the police when the landlord shut off our utilities early, things took a turn. She retaliated and is now taking us to court to force us out — not because we didn’t pay, but because I spoke up.

We’ve exhausted every resource — emergency housing programs, shelters, churches — but nothing has opened their doors for us. We’re out of options, and time is running out. With no vehicle (our only car’s engine seized and we couldn’t afford repairs), no family nearby, and no childcare options, I stay home to care for River while Ranger works and continues to look for a better job to support us.

We are asking for help to:

• Secure safe and stable housing (first month’s rent/deposit) around $2000

• Get a reliable vehicle so Ranger can get to work and we can access resources $2500

• Cover basic expenses as we start over — again — for the third time in less than a year $1000

We never imagined we’d be in this position. We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t do this part alone.
