Hi. I'm Jenny Johann. I have Stage 4 metastatic tongue cancer. I've never smoked or chewed or vaped or done any of the things I would think may cause tongue cancer. I had a spot on my tongue a couple of years ago that hurt. I had part of my tongue removed and was told not to worry about it anymore. When I woke up one day in April of this year with a lot of pain on the left side of my head, little did I know, I should have, in fact, worried. Now I have incurable, inoperable cancer. It's in my lungs and bones, as well. I'm only 55 and I am NOT nearly done living. I feel like I've barely even started. I am blessed to have been accepted into a clinical trial at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. This will, hopefully, prolong my life. I want as many years as possible with Bob, my husband of 30 years. I'm the baby of 7 and I'm very close with my siblings and want to spend as much time as possible with them and their families.
The treatments require me to fly to Houston 2 to 3 times a month and stay there for a few days each time. I can no longer work due to the pain in my neck and jaw when I try to look at my monitors as well as fatigue. We have only one income and we need help to make this treatment possible. We would greatly appreciate any help you can give. Thank you!
