Hi, my name is Noemi. My mom and I lost everything in the Lahaina fire.

I was at work when this happened. I was waiting for my mom to pick me up but she wasn't there so i ubered. My mom was coming back from Wailuku and the road was closed so she was redirected and all she saw was smoke and there was no cell reception. My mom came home looking for me around 4 and told me we had to go. I had no idea what was happening. She said there was a fire really close to Weinberg Apartments where we live. Alarms were going off and you could here the fires exploding. We left everything including the car cause we thought we could come back. We couldn't find my brother who lived down the street. We couldn't get in touch with him and his family for four days.

The next morning we went home and everything was gone. I work at the Hyatt timeshare. Fortunately my work was able to find us housing till the end of January and then we have to find somewhere to stay after.
