My name is Abby, and I am part of the team at the Broadway Hotel Parkes. I am writing on behalf of our community to help support a local man who has been impacted by a tragic bushfire event. Wayne Hodge better known as Animal in Parkes.

On 29 December, a major bushfire that broke out approximately 14 kilometres outside of Parkes caused catastrophic damage. As a result of this fire, he lost his home and everything he owned. In a matter of hours, his entire life was reduced to ashes, leaving him with nothing but the clothes he was wearing and the immense challenge of starting over.

As a close-knit regional community, we believe it is important to rally together in times like these. This GoFundMe has been created to raise money to help him get back on his feet and cover immediate essentials such as clothing, accommodation, food, and other basic living needs, as well as to assist with the longer-term process of rebuilding his life.
