Donate to help pay for Harold's vet bills!

Hi, we are Lexi and Alex and we're fundraising for our 8 year old Scottish Fold, Harold. We have Harold since he was a kitten and he brings so much joy to our household.

We were concerned Harold had a UTI in October '22, but the vet dismissed our concerns and insisted it was a behavioral problem. In that time, we have been closely monitoring his eating, drinking, and bathroom habits.

On 12/6, we brought Harold to urgent care as he was having difficulty going to the bathroom, and it was confirmed he did have crystals in his urine. He was given antibiotics, fluids, and a prescription diet but was sent home. The next day, Harold was still unable to use the bathroom despite intense straining, and his behavior was off - he wouldn't even come out of the closet for treats.

We rushed Harold to urgent care again where they confirmed that his urinary tract was blocked. They referred us to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital, where Harold was admitted for over 48 hours. While in the ER, Harold had a catheter as well as an endoscopy to remove a foreign object from his stomach. In addition to pica, where Harold will try to eat non-food items, Harold was diagnosed with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD), which will require close monitoring and prescription food for the rest of his life. We will likely need anxiety medication for Harold, as his stress levels have not improved despite our best efforts.

The vet did commend us for acting as quickly as we did! Had we waited another day or two, this situation would have been much more dire. We are so grateful that we caught this condition early.

As it stands, we have nearly $6500 in veterinary bills. Harold is an important part of our family, and we didn't think twice when we were told how much the bill would be. While we took out medical credit cards and qualified for financial assistance (a $1500 discount is applied), we will still struggle to pay this bill. We are asking for your help to keep Harold healthy and with our family for as long as we can.

Any and all help, especially sharing the fundraiser, is immensely appreciated! We hope Harold will be home soon.
